Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Product Owner to join our team and drive the success of our data-driven projects. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that data solutions align with business objectives and deliver measurable value. This is a critical role for someone passionate about translating complex data requirements into actionable product strategies.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into clear technical specifications
  • Own the product roadmap for data initiatives and prioritize features based on business impact
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, and analytics teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product positioning and feature prioritization
  • Define and track KPIs and success metrics for data projects
  • Facilitate communication between non-technical stakeholders and technical teams
  • Conduct user research and incorporate feedback into product iterations
  • Manage the product backlog and ensure user stories are well-documented and prioritized
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle

 

Workplace:  This is a hybrid role, open to candidates based within a commutable distance to Dallas, TX area as occasional in office presence is required. 

 

 

Must Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner on data-focused projects
  • Proven experience with data warehousing, analytics platforms, or data pipeline projects
  • Strong understanding of data concepts (ETL, data modeling, analytics, reporting)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, SQL (basic understanding), and BI platforms
  • Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or Product Management
